We advise not to invest in any of the uniform until you have attended your trial. Socks with grippy soles for ballet and trainers for tap are fine for a trial.

Our uniform can be purchased from two different websites. The leotards/t-shirts/shorts/leggings for pre-level one, one, two & three ballet must be purchased on the Royal Ballet School's website; royalballetschool.org.uk/atap-uniform. This page is only available to ATAP students. The password is RBSATAPUNIFORM.

The remainder of the CTS uniform is from Dansez. Please email lovedansez@dans-ez.com quoting ‘Cygnets To Swans’ requesting a uniform activation link.

We also have a small but growing selection of preloved uniform, managed by a CTS volunteer. Proceeds from any sales go directly into the CTS fund. If you would like to be added to the Whatsapp group, please contact Hannah or Katy.

I recommend getting ballet & tap shoes fitted at The Dancing Boutique on Camden road in Tunbridge Wells.

I strongly encourage all pupils to have a CTS t-shirt, CTS mint green sweater or CTS jacket for wearing to & from class and waiting around at show rehearsals and watching week etc.

CTS branded varsity jackets, dance bags and onesies can be purchased from Rock The Dragon - these are great for colder months and can also be personalised with your performer’s name.

Please label EVERYTHING! We have a lost property box, which we put out during classes at the Commemoration Hall.

Tap

CTS navy leggings/navy shorts, CTS t-shirt, white socks, black tap shoes OR ballet/modern uniform if coming/going straight from/to that class.

Musical Theatre and Speech & Drama & LAMDA

CTS navy leggings/navy shorts/navy slim joggers, CTS t-shirt, optional CTS mint green sweater or CTS Varsity Jacket, plain trainers.

PBT, Free Work Ballet & Acrobatic Arts

CTS navy catsuit OR CTS white fitted t-shirt with CTS navy shorts OR ballet uniform with bare feet OR ballet leotard with black footless tights over the top.

Hair should be neatly and appropriately styled off the face and neck so that the face and neckline can be seen and there is no hair falling across the face. Buns are preferable for all dance classes.

For students who wish to wear a headscarf or hijab, this should be styled off the face and neck as much as possible so that the face and neckline can be seen.

For safety reasons jewellery (apart from stud earrings) is not permitted unless required for religious or faith reasons.

Swans Adult Ballet

Most feel comfortable in leggings and a t-shirt/jumper. Socks are fine if you don’t want to invest in ballet shoes. If you do, canvas split sole are the best option.
